To commemorate their 55th anniversary this year, the NLCB Fonclaire Steel Orchestra’s events committee is drawing upon the expertise of some distinguished local and international artistes of diverse genres to perform at their celebratory concert, Fonclaire 55 The Concert, on April 25, 6 pm, at the Naparima Bowl, 19-21 Paradise Pasture, San Fernando.
*Billed to perform are Wade Austin (London), Darryl Belgrove (Switzerland), Adrian Jones (New York), Kizzy Huggins, Dwight Belgrove and Brent Richardson (Toronto), Deryck Ayum, Sherwin Cooper and Lennard Jack (Maryland), Rodger Charles and Darril Edwards (Little Rock, Arkansas), Fonclaire Youths, Fonclaire Golden Steel, soca artistes: sweet soca man Timothy “Baron” Watkins, Marvin “Swappi” Davis, jazz artiste Vaughnette Bigford. Fonclaire featuring Lois Lewis, and the Darren Sheppard Project.
Admission is $250. Tickets can be obtained at the Fonclaire Enterprises Lotto Centre and Gift Shop, 8 Dottin Street, San Fernando, from 9am to 9pm. Strict adherence to the current health discipline is expected, and patrons are asked to be seated by 5.30 pm.
